General project objective:
The BloomEra project aims to accelerate the adoption of innovative agricultural systems across Europe, with the following goals:
- increasing farmers' income,
- strengthening resilience to climate change,
- developing sustainable value chains based on the efficient and circular use of agricultural resources.
To achieve this objective, the project promotes agricultural practices such as: intercropping, crop rotation, agroforestry, and conservation agriculture.
Through these practices, farmers are supported to make more efficient use of the resources already available to them, taking care of soil health and biodiversity, while also discovering new economic opportunities.
At the same time, BloomEra facilitates knowledge transfer and innovation through collaboration between farmers, researchers, consultants, cooperatives, clusters, and decision-makers, thereby contributing to strengthening the European Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation Systems (AKIS).
Hygia involvement:
Within the BloomEra project, we support AgroTransilvania Cluster in implementing the activities assumed under the partnership:
- Coordinating the case study in Romania, bringing together farmers, researchers, and other stakeholders interested in climate-smart agricultural practices.
- Contributing to a European knowledge base on innovative agriculture, turning farmers' experience and research results into practical recommendations and useful strategies for the sector.
- Organizing and hosting trainings, farmer schools, and practical demonstrations, bringing innovative research-based solutions closer to farms in Romania.
- Facilitating meetings and experience exchanges at European level between farmers, researchers, and other stakeholders in agriculture, supporting collaborations and sustainable value chains.
