General project objective:

The CircularLIFE4Furn project aims to accelerate the transition of the European furniture and interior design industry towards circular business models, helping SMEs meet new European requirements related to sustainability and the circular economy.

The project seeks to increase the sector's competitiveness and resilience through:

  • developing practical tools,
  • training programs,
  • mentoring activities, and
  • pilot projects,

activities that help companies shift towards more efficient and sustainable production and consumption models.

Hygia involvement:

Within the project, we represent the Transylvanian Furniture Cluster (CMT), handling the project and financial management of the activities.

More specifically, we will carry out the following:

  • Assessing the readiness of companies in the furniture and interior design sector for the transition towards circular business models.
  • Contributing to developing tools, resources, and training & mentoring programs, through which we support SMEs and other stakeholders in the sector to put these models into practice.
  • Coordinating pilot projects and facilitate the participation of Romanian companies in the project's activities, helping them implement circular solutions.
  • Facilitating the exchange of experience and knowledge transfer at European level, while also supporting the creation of communities of practice dedicated to the circular economy in the furniture sector.
